Anytime of day police officials want you to know they will be checking for impaired drivers.

That was the message North Bay and area police partners delivered today as they kicked off the Joint Forces Festive R.I.D.E check-stop at Highway 654 and Highway 94 (Wasi Corners) Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say the Festive R.I.D.E. initiative is one of the most effective ways to remove impaired drivers from the roadway.

Those drivers who choose to disregard clear messaging about the dangers of driving while under the influence are often stopped at these enforcement checkpoints.
