Constable Stacy Jackson (back row left) and Special Constable Todd Daley (back row right) of the North Bay Police Association Golf Committee , along with Police Association President Staff Sergeant Mike Tarini (centre) were on hand at the North Bay Regional Health Centre last week in order to present a cheque for $5000 to support the Central Fetal Monitoring System. Money was raised from the association’s annual golf tournament along with a little help from the associations’ charity fund.

Lois Krause (left), President and CEO North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation, and Karen Cook (right), Registered Nurse from the Birthing Unit were “cuffed” together in accepting the cheque from the Police Association.

The Central Fetal Monitoring System will allow doctors and nurses too instantly evaluate a baby for signed of distress during labour and delivery. Doctors will also be able to read the monitoring systems on their Smartphone while on their way to the hospital.

The technology of the Central Fetal Monitoring System is essential for our district. As a high-risk referral centre for surrounding communities, we have a responsibility to reduce the risks associated with labour and delivery.

This advanced system will provide the healthcare team with an increased ability to evaluate the health of mother and baby, allowing for earlier intervention where complications occur and better medical outcomes.
