Sarah Deschamps is a Grade 12 student who has been heavily involved with Chippewa's environmental and philanthropy group RaiderAid.

She is president of the club this year and has worked tirelessly to pursue the club's social justice campaigns throughout her four years at Chippewa.

Her personal initiative involves running the "We Are Silent" campaign which involves "speaking out" by taking a vow of silence to represent those who are silenced in our world.

This campaign raises awareness for silenced voices from those who are bullied in a local community to those whose human rights are violated in the global community.

Sarah is a highly active and engaged leader within RaiderAid who inspires others to take action.

Her dedication and hard work is much appreciated and is worthy of recognition.

Sarah is involved as a volunteer or participant with an organization committed to the advancement of peace or the promotion of non-violence in the community - RaiderAid.

She has a program and activity that contributes to a safe and non-violent environment at school, in the home or in the community - We Are Silent Campaign.

Sarah consistently demonstrates through her actions, ways to live in peace and harmony in an increasingly diverse society - over 100 volunteer hours and RaiderAid Campaigns raising over $1,000 for humanitarian aid.

She acts in such a way as to have 'made a difference' in promoting peace, within the family, the community, nationally and internationally.

Finally, Sarah has served as a role model and example to other individuals in the pursuit of peace and the development of a non-violent community.

She is a model student who regularly contributes to the community at Chippewa.

She is a high achiever who makes efforts to build community within the classroom, school clubs and globally. She has made a significant contribution to peace in her local and global community.
