During the week of November 14-22, the West Nipissing Police Service logged 153 calls for service.  Among those were 28 9-1-1 calls, 18 Police Assistance calls, 7 Alarms, 4 Thefts, 3 Domestic Disputes, 2 Mischiefs, 1 Assault and 1 Sexual Assault.

On Nov. 15th, a walk-in complaint was received from a female who stated that she was a victim of Domestic Assault. 

She told the officers that over the course of the summer months, her long-time boyfriend had choked her in front of her daughter and then stated about 2-3 weeks ago during an argument he pushed her to the ground and allegedly punched her in the ribs. 

She continued to say that in 2013, she was assaulted approx. 20 times. 

The 34 year old male was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault. 

He was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

On November 15th, while on general patrol a WNPS officer observed a 16 year old male who was known to have an outstanding Warrant for his arrest from the Sudbury area. 

The officer detained the youth until the Warrant was confirmed. 

The youth was then arrested on that Warrant and arrangements were made to meet with officers from the GSPS where the youth was turned over to them.

On Nov. 15th, a complaint was received from a Parker St resident stating that his GPS (Tom Tom) was taken from his vehicle sometime last week. 

There are no suspects at this time.

A 24 year old male was charged for Public Intox after a run-in with police on Main St at William. 

At approx. 3AM on Nov. 16th, police were called to that area regarding an altercation between two men. 

One of the involved males was observed to be severely intoxicated and was not following police directives. 

He was arrested and brought to the WNPS headquarters where he was lodged in a holding cell for the remainder of the night.

On Nov. 17th a call was received from a female stating that there was a disturbance at her Montreal St residence and then the phone went dead. 

Officers quickly attended and were told by the female victim that she was involved in an argument with her 17 year old boyfriend and at one point he grabbed her arm and shook her. 

The boyfriend was located within the residence and was arrested for Domestic Assault. 

He was later released on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking with conditions not to attend the victim’s residence and not to communicate with her.

Later the same day the WNPS received a call stating that the same 17 year old male was back at the victim’s residence. 

Officers attended and located the male within the residence and arrested him for Breach Of Undertaking. 

He was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

On Nov. 17th the WNPS received a complaint from a Lac Clair Rd resident stating that he had some tools stolen from his garage.

An officer attended and was told that two chain saws and a grass trimmer were taken from his unlocked garage. 

The chain saws are described as Jonsered model # 2159 and #2171 and both were red in color. 

The grass trimmer was described as being white and orange in color. 

There are no suspects at this time.

On Nov. 20th, a Mischief complaint was received from a Drive-In Rd resident. 

The complainant stated that her husband’s truck had been vandalized sometime overnight while parked in the driveway. 

An officer attended and observed words scratched through the paint on the truck’s tailgate. 

Suspects were spoken to but no charges were laid.
