The Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services Department have issued a statement that due to strong winds, King’s Landing (Government Dock) is closed under further notice.
Meanwhile, The Education Centre (including the Harris Learning Library, Residences, and R.J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre) and Canadore College Aviation Campus closed today as of 2 p.m due to a power outage.
Officials say both sites will remain closed until further notice.
Students and staff should note the outage did not affect Commerce Court Campus or West Parry Sound Campus.
Nipissing University is now saying that they expect further power interruptions throughout the afternoon and evening and therefore, the North Bay campus will be closed for the remainder of the day.
All afternoon and evening classes, events and activities at the main campus are cancelled.
We expect to resume normal operations tomorrow morning.
Canadore College’s evening classes will resume if power has been restored.
