Two schools in the Near North District School Board have been closed due to a loss of power.
Evergreen Heights Education Centre and Whitestone Lake Public School have been closed for today, Monday, November 18, 2013. These schools lost power early this morning, before buses had left to pick up students.
Several other schools across the district, which are experiencing intermittent or full loss of power, will remain open today. These schools lost power after buses had left on their routes to pick up students.
Parents and caregivers will be contacted by their school to pick up their children should they expect power will not be restored for the day. Buses will depart, as per usual, at the end of the day.
The Near North District School Board would like to thank the power authority workers and Board staff who are working diligently to deal with this concern.

Meanwhile, there have been reports of power outages in the city from Larocque Road to the Ferris area.
