The West Nipissing Police Service and the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Ontario Provincial Police are working with the Regional Coroner’s office as they continue their investigation of the November 11th sudden death of Sturgeon Falls resident, Katie McEdwards.

Police received a 911 call at approximately 3:30 p.m. on November 11th. Upon police and EMS arrival at the Allain Court residence the female was found to be unresponsive.

CPR was inititated and continued during transportation to the hospital where the female was provided medical attention but later pronounce dead.

A cause of death has not been determined and the investgiation is ongoing.

The West Nipissing Police Service and the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Ontario Provincial Police are currently investigating a sudden death.

The 23 year old deceased was discovered in her Sturgeon Falls residence at approximately 3:30pm November 11th. The coroner was contacted and forensic autopsy was conducted in Sudbury on November 13th. The Ontario Provincial Police Identification Unit is assisting with the examination of the scene.

Police are not identifying the deceased’s name to allow for family members to be notified.

Police continue their investigation into this matter.
