Second-degree murder charges filed in Main Street stabbing Update

Further to the incident of a stabbing that occurred on the 100 block of Main Street East in North Bay shortly before noon today.

*** UPDATE***

As a result of the investigation conducted by the North Bay Police Service, 53 year old Peter James McArthur of North Bay will face a charge of second-degree murder.

The deceased in this incident is 51 year old Gordon Pilon also of North Bay.

McArthur is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing on Monday November 18th, 2013

The North Bay Police are presently on the scene of stabbing that occurred on the 100 block of Main Street East in North Bay shortly before noon hour. 

One male has been taken into custody.

The male victim has succumbed to his injuries and has been pronounced deceased at North Bay General Hospital. 

The suspect and the victim were known to each other.

Police continue their investigation at this time.

BayToday has received information from our readers that there has been an incident on Main Street around 11:30 am.

Our reader notes it may have been a stabbing.

They say paramedics were seen giving one person chest compressions as they left the scene on route to the hospital.

They also indicate as the ambulance departed one man was arrested at the scene and police seemed to remove a knife from the man's pocket.

Police have blocked off Main Street from Wyld to Ferguson and have Crime Scene tape in place.
