City police seeking public's help locating a wanted man Update

Reports indicate police have their suspect in custody. Following an extensive search by police including a call for public help locating Gary Thompson, he turned himself in to police Thursday without incident.

Following an extensive search by police including a call for public help locating Gary Thompson, he turned himself in to police Thursday without incident.

Further reports indicate that he has been charged with dangerous driving, fail to remain at the scene of an accident, uttering threats, two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of attempt to commit murder.

He’s being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing Friday morning.

On November 13th, 2013 at 4:26 a.m. a motor vehicle collision occurred on Lakeheights Dr. The collision involved a Jeep Cherokee striking two people causing injuries. The driver then fled the area.

The driver has been identified as Gary Thompson 37 years of age, with a Robarts Ave address.

He is believed to be suicidal and left his residence on foot, possibly with his golden retriever dog. 

He was last known to be wearing black coat with a plaid jacket underneath. He was also wearing a blue Ecco t-shirt and jeans. He is wearing Timberland shoes.

He is 5’11, 164 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. The dog is a medium size cross mix, light brown colour
