McDonald’s Restaurants in North Bay and Sturgeon Falls has awarded annual McDonald’s Employee Scholarship Awards to two of their restaurant crew.

Emily Haws of North Bay (pictured), and Gemmarose Pruneau of Sturgeon Falls, were honoured for making a difference at work, at school and in the community.

They have each received $500 toward tuition and books.

“McDonald’s is committed to creating opportunities for our employees, nurturing talent and rewarding achievement,” said Brad Haines, Owner/Operator.

“The McDonald’s Employee Scholarship Program celebrates the accomplishments of our valued employees, like Emily & Gemmarose, and shows our support in helping them reach their goals.”

The McDonald’s Employee Scholarship Program was established more than 20 years ago to recognize McDonald’s employees for their outstanding accomplishments on the job, at school or in the community.

Since the program began, more than 4,000 McDonald’s employees have shared in McDonald’s Scholarship awards totaling more than $2 million.

The McDonald’s Employee Scholarship Program is just one example of McDonald’s commitment to its employees. As one of the largest student employers in Canada, McDonald’s recognizes the important balance between school and part-time employment and through flexible scheduling practices, works to ensure that education remains a top priority for its student employees.
