NORTH BAY - Officers with the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and of the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit investigated a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a sports utility vehicle (SUV). The collision occurred west of North Bay on Highway 17 in Beaucage Township on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at approximately 7:20 a.m.
As a result, two people were trapped in the SUV and had to be extricated by West Nipissing Fire Department. The driver of the SUV was airlifted to Sudbury Regional Hospital and the passenger was transported to North Bay Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the pick-up truck was ejected from her vehicle and succumbed to her injuries. She has been identified as Jamie Lynn HUMPHREYS, 27, of North Bay, Ontario.
