All next week, visitors to 22 Wing/Canadian Forces Base North Bay can expect possible delays in traffic while military members participate in a training exercise.

Visitors who plan on using facilities such as the Canex, Subway, the Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence and the Fitness and Wellness Centre are asked to take into consideration that the military footprint from personnel and equipment may impact movement at the Wing.

The exercise will run twenty-four hours a day from October 28th to November 1st. The overall scenario is based on potential threats to the Wing. These threats require extensive military training to support the safety objectives of the base and are an opportunity for command to achieve an increased level of preparedness for operations. It will focus on domestic events dealing with security and disasters and is designed to ensure all training objectives are met within the Wing’s area of operation.

This is an annual Chief of the Defence Staff directed training event and Canada Joint Operation Command is the lead agency. The exercise helps create a ready and able command that is able to take the lead on any defence or security issue threatening 22 Wing.
