Parking at the Battalion gameThursday, October 10, 2013 by: Kate AdamsNorth Bay Police Service
The North Bay Police Service is working with City of North Bay staff and the Management of the North Bay Battalion to create a traffic and parking plan for the 2013/2014 hockey season. With an expected sellout crowd this Friday and Monday police are urging for patience and common sense by those attending the game and those living in the area around Memorial Gardens.
As work crews continue construction on Ferguson Street and surrounding side streets those traveling to the game by vehicle should expect congestion and some delays on departure from the game.
Motorists are asked to be cognizant and mindful of pedestrians, especially children walking. Police and parking authority will be enforcing traffic and parking by-laws including:
Parking to interfere with traffic
Park obstruct alley entrance or exit
Park in fire route
Park in disabled space without permit
Park on sidewalk
Park in bus stop
Park in a loading zone
Park within 3 meters of a fire hydrant
Park within 60 meters of corner
Park where prohibited by authorized sign
Park within 30 meters of corner contrary to the sign
Park within 15 meters of driveway to parking lot
Park in prohibited zone
Parking infractions that create dangerous conditions or block private properly will be subject to towing at owners expense if not remove
Residents with concerns regarding private property or blocked driveways are asked to call the Resource Officer (705)497-5589.
Police are reminding citizens that 9-1-1 is for emergency calls only.
Police are encouraging patrons to take advantage of the free busing, organized through the City of North Bay, Northgate Square and the Battalion. Additional parking information can be found on the North Bay City and North Bay Battalion web pages.
Pedestrians and traffic don’t mix, let’s all do our part to make the North Bay Battalion home opener a safe, incident free event.
