Pedestrian bridge at Olive Street now open

On Tuesday, June 28, 2011 the Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Department announced that the pedestrian bridge at Olive Street, crossing Chippewa Creek will be closed until further notice.

After a lengthy wait for residents in the area who utilize the pathway, Mayor Al McDonald announced on his Facebook page this morning the bridge is now open.

"News Scoop. New pedestrian bridges in Thompson Park are in and open. Fully accessible. The bridge closest to YMCA will be open all year, plowed and cleared of snow for residents in the area to go to grocery store and drug store."
