Cancer Society set to add a splash of colour to runningMonday, October 07, 2013 by: Kate AdamsCanadian Cancer Society
Paige Shemilt, left, and Sarah Myers demonstrate what participants can expect at the Canadian Cancer Society's first annual Colours of Hope 5K run on Saturday, Oct. 19.
It is non-competitive walk, run or strut that focuses more on the experience than a race time. The run will be held at Lee Park, Memorial Dr.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the run begins at 10 a.m.
There are five colour stations during the event where runners can expect splashes of colour to be thrown at them.
All proceeds from the event will go to cancer research and to programs and services that support cancer patients.
