CFB North Bay in lockdown mode Thursday

CFB North Bay went into today’s wing-wide lockdown this afternoon after a citizen reported that a middle aged male in a green trench coat pointed the rifle at the citizen near the soccer field on base.

Officials say North Bay Police were called in and an extensive search of the grounds was conducted however, they did not find anyone that matched the description given so the lockdown was lifted, however, the base will remain in a heightened state of vigilance.

Base officials say in light of the occurrences in the United States as of late there is no room to hesitate and reaction must be quick on their part.

All parties will come together Friday for a debriefing to see what worked and what room there is for improvement.
