LOCATION: Discovery North Bay Museum Upper Gallery
100 Ferguson St, North Bay
You are invited to share in a Free Evening of Education with the Heritage Gardeners.
On Wednesday, October 9, 2013 The North Bay Heritage Gardeners are hosting a screening of the important film: “The Vanishing of the Bees”.
Vanishing of the Bees takes a piercing investigative look at the economic, political and spiritual implications of the worldwide disappearance of the honeybee. This feature-length documentary, which is narrated by Oscar-nominated Ellen Page, also examines the current agricultural landscape and celebrates the ancient and sacred connection between humans and honeybees.
The screening will be followed by a chance for the experts from Board’s Honey Farm to give us the local perspective on this very alarming ongoing environmental issue.
This timely topic was featured on CBC radios Ontario Today program on Monday September 30. So come see the film and have a chance to have some discussion with local bee keepers
This screening is free but donations are always welcome. Participants may also wish to participate in the twoonie raffle in support of Heritage Gardeners.
Doors open at 6:00 pm and the movie will start at 6:15. Please bring your own mug for organic tea or coffee.
