OPP find indoor and outdoor grow op in Nipissing Township

NIPISSING TWP - On September 20, 2013, the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau North Bay Drug Enforcement Unit supported by the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team and Ontario Provincial Police Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a Nipissing Township property.

As a result of the investigation an indoor and outdoor Cannabis marijuana growing operation was located.

One hundred and seven cannabis marijuana plants and approximately 20 kilograms of drying cannabis marijuana were seized during the investigation.

Also seized were offence-related property and two firearms.

Four individuals were arrested and charged.

All four individuals were released on a Promise to Appear and scheduled to attend court in North Bay on November 5, 2013.

The street value of the drugs seized is $308,080.

Michael Toman, age 45, of Nipissing Township:

• Production of Cannabis Marijuana contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

• Possession of Cannabis Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

• Possession of Cannabis Marijuana and Cannabis Resin contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

• Careless Use of Firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada – 2 counts.

Lean Toman, age 45, of Nipissing Township:

• Production of Cannabis Marijuana contrary to section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

• Possession of Cannabis Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

• Possession of Cannabis Marijuana and Cannabis Resin contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

• Careless Use of Firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada – 2 counts.

Kevin Dubois, age 21, of Nipissing Township:
