For the 9th year in a row, a group of local North Bay students set up their lemonade stand on the corner of Copeland and Murray Streets to raise funds to support Terry Fox Cancer Research.

Current Widdifield SS. students Madison Waller & Graeme Vaananen and recent Widdifield SS graduate Kiersten Vaananen donated their time and energy to raise $403.25 on Saturday Sept. 14, 2013.

The money was presented and donated to the organizing committee at the waterfront on Sunday morning.

A big thank you goes out to Aunt Brenda for donating her extra special home made cookies. As always, they were a huge hit.

Also a big pat on the back to Aunt Karen, Uncle Howard, Uncle Keith, Aunt Chris and Grandma Jan for lending a helping hand and offering encouragement.

In the nine years of running the lemonade stand, the students have raised almost $4000 to help Terry complete his dream.

Plans are in place to run the stand one more time in Sept. 2014 to hit the magic 10 year mark.

Hopes are to pass on the lemonade stand idea to some other younger students in the area encouraging them to carry on the fundraising torch for Terry Fox.
