Come on out and join – We are having our first training day on the 09th of September, 2013 (Monday) between 6-9pm at the Troy Armoury (Chippewa St, North Bay).

Young people 12 to 18 years of age may enroll in cadets. We parade every Monday night from 6:00-9:00pm (September to June) at the Troy Armoury on 540 Chippewa St W., North Bay.

Anyone interested in joining must provide the Squadron with a photocopy of their Medical/Health Card and a photocopy of their birth certificate. An application form must be completed and signed by a parent/legal guardian. There is no fee for joining Air Cadets.

The aim of the cadet organization is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promote physical fitness; and stimulate an interest in the activities of the Canadian Forces. Our local unit is sponsored by the Air Cadet League of Canada in partnership with the Canadian Forces and our sponsor 406 Squadron. .

The Air Cadet Training Program provides a wide range of activities and courses to meet the interests of cadets. New recruits begin their training with Drill and General Cadet Knowledge, giving them a knowledge of the origin of the cadet movement and its development; an understanding of the rank structure; and an appreciation for the care of uniform. Cadets then move on to subjects such as
Citizenship, Physical Fitness, Leadership, Aircraft Identification, Aeronautical Facilities, Airframes, Aircrew Survival, and Range/Shooting.

Cadets participates in a number of community service activities, sports, citizenship activities and weekend field exercises throughout the year. Cadets also have the opportunity to experience both powered and non-powered (glider) familiarization flying. Cadets joining prior to 31 January of a training year are eligible for summer training.
