The General Chairperson's Association (GCA) representing unionized employees at Ontario Northland have been invited by government representatives to attend a meeting at the Ontario Northland headquarters in North Bay on August 16th to discuss the future of the ONTC.

"The GCA is hopeful that Premier Wynne having said that she has heard the voters after the August 1st by-elections actually wants to have a real conversation with all the ONTC’s stakeholders about developing a viable option to divestment," said GCA spokesperson Brian Kelly.

“Last month the GCA stated publicly that it was willing to meet with all ONTC stakeholders to discuss all issues from governance, structure, capital and operational funding, to collective agreements, business lines and future opportunities for growth to name just a few” added kelly

"We look forward to begin the process with all the ONTC stakeholders Friday in developing a long term business plan that will give the Minister’s Advisory Committee (MAC) and the Wynne Government the viable option to divestment the Premier and Minster Gravelle have said they are open to”, continued Kelly.

"By bringing all stakeholders together we can begin in earnest the important work of revitalizing this important Northern Ontario economic infrastructure at the same time keeping it whole and in public hands," concluded Kelly.
