This summer the talented gang at (Theatre Outreach on Stage) TOROS have departed from the standard musical repertoire of the past 26 years to introduce the music styling of Cole Porter to the North Bay area with ‘Anything Goes’.

The show, chock-full of big musical numbers that sees the entire cast of 56 tap dance, is set in the ‘Dirty Thirties’ and centres around a sure of herself wise cracking showgirl Reno Sweeney (Emily Hawton) and a lovesick stockbroker Billy Crocker (Brad Delarosbel) and their misadventures aboard the S.S. American cruise ship bound from New York to England.

Sponsored by the Near North District School Board, TOROS gives area youth from grades 7 -12 the opportunity to be part of a full scale musical production.

It is no small feat to put the production not only does it take a talented cast but it also takes a strong technical team as well. Rising to the occasion once again is director Shane Southcott who is assisted by student director Joshua Pride. Supporting the duo in their vision to deliver a spectacular show is Vocal Director Karen Schiavone, Choreographer Marg McDiarmid, co-choreographer Amber McLay, Costume Designer Lynn Morrison, and Stage Manager Jesse Beam. And not to forget the woman that pulls it all together by ensuring everything is in place while watching every penny in the budget Producer Marla Sunstrum.

Anything Goes, which promises to entertain everyone from grandparent to grandchild, opens this Wednesday, August 7th and runs to Saturday, August 10th at the Capitol Centre. Curtain time is 7:30pm sharp and 2pm sharp for the Saturday matinee Aug. 10 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $17 and can be purchased at the Capitol Centre box office or online at www.capitolcentre.org.
