SIP concert for Saturday is a go notes Mayor McDonald

Thunder and lightning were unwelcomed guests Friday night at Summer in the Park, in fact they got so out of hand that committee members had to cancel the first night of concerts which meant the crowd didn’t get to see the headline act Metric.

Versus sending out a news release to the media, committee members took to the Summer in the Park facebook page informing concert goers that they had no choice but to cancel the headline act as the safety of the public is always paramount.

“When we made the decision for safety reasons to cancel the concert and safely evacuate the grounds, I was proud of how mature and understanding our young people were attending the concerts. They were completely understanding and many thanked us on the way out. Our young people deserve a shout out! Proud here in North Bay! Concert for Saturday is a go,” states Mayor Al McDonald on his webpage.

This year the cancellation insurance process is in place and folks can bring in wristbands to city hall before August 16th to receive a $20 refund. Out of Towner’s can mail in the wristband with I-D. Full Details below taken from the SIP webpage.
