Special events and special weekends also attract petty criminals.

When crowds gather for lengthy events, people tend to leave their valuables in their vehicles so they don’t have to carry them. Thieves actually work parking lots looking for purses, IPods, cameras, laptops, GPSes or anything else that may be valuable.

The North Bay Police want to remind the public to secure their valuables out of sight, in the trunk, carry them with you or leave them at home.

Don’t let a thief ruin an otherwise enjoyable, memorable weekend.
