Latchford man charged with insecure load

Gladman TWP, South of Marten River - On 22 July 2013, a driver of a flatbed truck hauling cement bricks, lost a cement brick which struck an oncoming vehicle. The brick penetrated the windshield of a pick-up truck rolled around in the cab and hit the driver in the back of the head causing minor injuries.

Marc Roy (44) of Latchford, ON is charged with:

•Insecure Load 111(2) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Motorist who are hauling loads of any sort are reminded to make sure the load is secured, contained or covered so that no portion of the load may become dislodged or fall, leak , spill or blow from the vehicle.
