Consuming an impressive 57 wings in 15 minutes Steve Dorgo blew his competition out of the water Sunday and was crowned the new King of Wings.

Dorgo easily crushed the record of 45 wings held by James Kerr in fact he got up from the competition and polished off another wing for dessert while waiting for the results to be announced.

He says he will use the cash he won to cover gas expenses or something of the ilk over the summer.

The 20 contestants, young and old, brought their ‘A’ game and appetites for the 5th annual chicken wing eating contest.

Tammie Richard, owner of ‘Tammies Queen of Wings’ the host restaurant, says the idea of a eating contest five years ago was a novel idea as no one was running a food eating contest plus everyone loves wings. She notes that the first prize is $500 is also attractive to folks.

Richard says next year she will introduce a kids category.
