Once again area students in Grade 6 through Grade 12 have been hard at work learning lines, songs and dance steps for the 10th annual Summer Challenge theatre production.

Since 2003 each year Summer Challenge, an enrichment art course offered through the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board summer school program, provides youth ages 12-18 the opportunity to develop theatre production skills while earning credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

This year the cast takes on Stephen Schwartz’s ‘Children of Eden’. From the story of Adam and Eve to Noah and his ark Children of Eden is a musical that tells the story of the Book of Genesis.

The cast features the vocal styling of Nick Boegel as Adam, Cecilia Mogan as Eve, and veteran playwright, actor and director Joshua Pride, as God. Pride once again has taken on the task of staring and directing in this year’s show.

The show opens to the public tomorrow (Thursday, July 18th) at 7 pm in the Bishop Carter Auditorium at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall and runs through to Saturday, July 20th.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and are available at the SJSH front office, Creative Learning, and at the door on show nights. For more information, visit summerchallenge.npsc.ca or call 705-494-8600.
