North Bay City Council saw a wrap up presentation for this year’s Relay for Life on Tuesday evening and the good news is that, despite fewer teams and participation, the event was successful, raising more money for the cause than last year.

The well-known annual event, held at CFB North Bay, sees teams participate in an all-night relay walk or run on the track.

Council also came up with a final iteration of this year’s Summer in the Park Festival, noting that they have secured areas for smoking and a booze tent for the concert festival’s attendees.

Tickets for this year’s event can be purchased in the Parks and Rec Department at City Hall.

Council also came forward with the City’s current financial statement, looking at higher than expected expenditures.

North Bay's debt load is now over 60 million dollars, a much higher number than in previous years.

Council also had other items of a general nature to clean up, mostly dealing with permits and purchases for ongoing projects within the city.
