LAURIER TWP - The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police have concluded their investigation into this incident and foul play has been ruled out.

The Ontario Provincial Police will be taking no further action with this matter.

On Tuesday June 11, 2013 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police investigated the death of a seventeen month old boy on McFadden Line in the Township of Laurier. On Thursday June 13, 2013 an autopsy was completed at the Sudbury Regional Health Centre.

Police are continuing their investigation in this matter however there are no further details to release at this time.

The Almaguin Highlands OPP are continuing their investigation into this incident.

At this time, the child will not be identified at the request of his family.

On June 11, 2013, the boy was in the care of a babysitter, at the babysitters residence. He was located unresponsive by a neighbour in a pond on an adjoining property during an immediate search for him by the babysitter and by neighbors.

CPR was performed by people on scene and by ambulance attendants who transported him to the North Bay Regional Health Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

A post mortem is scheduled for Thursday, June 13th, 2013.

The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police were called to a Laurier Township residence at approximately 9:30am on Tuesday June 11, 2013 to investigate the death of a seventeen month old boy.

The matter is still under investigation and no other details can be provided at this time.
