The Defeat Depression cycle ride hosted by Stepping Stones Services takes place THIS SUNDAY in North Bay.

Mayor Al McDonald will put his cycle skills to test and complete the 22.6 km lap to show support from the city.

Last minute registration is permitted and encouraged, the weather forecast is for sun, so we hope to get lots of riders out.

Stepping Stones Services gives people living in our community the opportunity to be employed and helps fight the stigma associated with mental illness in the workplace.

Please find below the details of the 22.6km and 90 km cycle rides.

Cyclists leave the Near North District School Board parking lot at 10:00 am.

EVENT: 22.6 KM CYCLE RIDE AND 90 KM CYCLE RIDE

DATE: SUNDAY MAY 26, 2013

START TIME: 10:00 AM (CYCLISTS ARRIVE BY 9:30)

STARTING LOCATION: NEAR NORTH DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD PARKING LOT, 963 AIRPORT RD. NORTH BAY

Route for both rides: Meet at Near North District School Board car parking lot on Airport Rd for registration...route is as follows:

Carmichael Drive to Northmount Rd, turn right onto 4 Mile Lake Road, turn right onto Hwy #63 (Trout Lake Road), turn right onto Lees Road, turn right onto Tower Drive, turn left onto Smith Road, turn left onto Northmount Road to finish (the 22.6 km ride follows this once and the 90 km does 4 laps).

This event is fully sanctioned by the Ontario Cycling Association.
