The North Bay Police Service would like to warn the general public that recently numerous citizens in the North Bay and surrounding area have been receiving unsolicited emails from what appears to the Bank of Montreal (BMO) fraud department requesting that the individual update their information by using a link in the email.
Communication with the Bank of Montreal (BMO) confirms that these email messages are not legitimate and that they (BMO) would never prompt a customer to update their information online.
If you receive this or any similar email, contact your financial institution immediately to report your suspicion and do not reply to any email that requests your personal information.
