The North Bay Police Service will be stepping up their RIDE spot checks this May long weekend.
People are encouraged to refrain from drinking alcohol if they intend to drive a vehicle. Make alternate arrangements if you intend to drink while enjoying the long weekend.
A charge of impaired driving can result in an immediate suspension of your driver’s license and impoundment of the vehicle you are driving.
A conviction can result in a further driver’s license suspension, the mandatory cost and use of an ignition interlock system when driving any vehicle for a period of time, as well as increased insurance costs.
The North Bay Police encourage citizens to make the right decision and don’t drink and drive.
