Community Living North Bay will be active in the celebration of Community Living Month in Ontario. The official launch was during our Pancake Breakfast Thursday, May 2, 2013 at FJ Dellandrea Place’s Home Style Café where Councilor Chris Mayne read the proclamation on behalf of
Mayor Al MacDonald.

May 7th the Community Living Flag was raised at City Hall. Over 50 people attended the flag raising and celebrated by making a toast to Community Living North Bay with cookies in the Community Living colors, green and blue.

This is a first for Community Living North Bay. The Raising of the Flag is one more way to raise awareness around Community Living Month and the importance of supports and services for people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Jennifer Valenti, Executive Director of Community Living North Bay says “Community Living Month is an important event for Community Living North Bay. It raises awareness not only about the supports and services we provide to people who have an intellectual disability and their families but also raises awareness about the people themselves and the importance of ensuring they are part of our community and have a good quality of life."

Valenti also says “Community Living Month is also about recognizing the good work the staff in our organization do.
