North Bay Blooms set for first clean up day

North Bay Blooms gets their first clean up day of the year underway this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Nipissing Plaza parking lot beside Parks Creek.

Again The Kiwanis Aktion Club one of the Community Clean Up Day's biggest supporters will be out in full force.

The day will see complimentary t-shirts & work gloves be available for the first 30 volunteers courtesy Tim Hortons and ice cold water will be provided courtesy Metro.

Focus of the clean up will be Parks Creek and the adjacent trails from Marshall Park Drive to Silver Beach.

Typically through the winter the area picks up more than its share of discarded plastic bags and bottles and there often seems to be a discarded shopping cart found somewhere along the creek.
