St. Catherines man charged with DUI and possession

MAGNETAWAN - On Sunday May 5, 2013 at approximately 6:30pm police responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 520 and 124 in the Township of Magnetawan. The vehicle had left the road and gone into the ditch.

Police investigated the collision and subsequently arrested and charged the driver, Michael SMITH (23) of St. Catherines Ontario for having more than eight milligrams of alcohol in one hundred milliliters of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

SMITH was also charged with Possession of Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear in Sundridge Court on Tuesday June 11, 2013.
