On the early morning of the 1st of May member of the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a break in, in which resulted in an altercation between the suspects and the resident of the home.

One of the suspects was injured. The suspects fled in a pickup truck that was stolen from the residence. During the early morning hours, OPP officers located and attempted to stop the fleeing suspect vehicle.

Officers were unsuccessful.

OPP officers from the Mattawa detachment located the stolen vehicle. Officers were able to apprehend the vehicle and the suspects.

Douglas Joseph MCNEIL, 25 of Brantford is charged with:

1. Assault

2. Flight from Police

3. Dangerous Driving

4. Robbery

5. Break and Enter and

6. Possession of Stolen Property

Kayla Ashley DUTFIELD, 20 of Oxford, ON is charged with:

1. Robbery

2. Possession of Stolen Property

3. Break and Enter

4. Theft of Motor Vehicle

5. Assault with a Weapon

Both have been held in custody.

The investigation is continuing.

At approximately 10:00 pm on the 30th of April members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were asked to assist Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) in relation to a possible stolen vehicle. Officers attempted to apprehend the fleeing suspect vehicle, however attempts were unsuccessful.

On the early morning of the 1st of May member of the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a break in, in which the resident was assaulted. A pickup truck was stolen from the residence. During the early morning hours, OPP officers located and attempted to stop the fleeing suspect vehicle. Officers were unsuccessful.

OPP officers from the Mattawa detachment located the stolen vehicle. Officers were able to apprehend the vehicle and the suspects. A 25 year old male with no fixed address and a 20 year old female with no fixed address are currently in custody pendi ng a bail hearing. They are both facing numerous criminal charges. The investigation is continuing.
