The Near North District School Board is pleased to announce that three students from Parry Sound High School are advancing on to this year’s Skills Canada-Ontario Technical Skills finals in Waterloo on May 6, 2013.

Grade 11 student, Jamie (JJ) Watkinson came first in the Culinary competition for the second year in a row and will be looking to improve on his 10th place provincial finish last year.

Also finishing in first place was Grade 12 student, Jacob Golle and Grade 10 student Quinton Golle in the TV and Video Production competition.

All three students participated in the Skills Canada Qualifying Competitions at Canadore College in North Bay on Saturday April 20, 2013.

“Once again, our students have been great ambassadors of our Board and I wish them the best of luck as they prepare for the Waterloo competition,” said experiential learning and OYAP coordinator Roy Desjardins.

The Board would like to recognize the mentors whom have been guiding students in preparation for this event; their time and continued support is most appreciated.
