Near North Crime Stoppers (NNCS) is gearing up for its biennial 'Jail-a-thon' to be held on Thursday May 16, 2013. The "Jail-a-thon' is a major fundraiser for the organization. During that day, several prominent people in the district will appear before a "judge" to answer to phony charges. The "judge" will set the bail amount to be collected by the 'criminal' in order to get out of jail. The money raised will assist the program with the cost of its daily operations and reward payments to tipsters who provide useful information.

NNCS hopes to raise $15,000.00 this year. You don't have to be a prominent citizen to participate, if you have a friend or boss that you would like to see 'locked up', call the Crime Stoppers office at 705-497-5555 extension 507 or 510.

The event will take place at the Northgate Shopping Centre (centre court) between 11am and 4 pm.
