The Ministry of Natural Resources is advising area residents that a flood warning remains in effect for the French and Sturgeon River Watershed. Flooding in several water courses within this watershed is imminent and may already be occurring.

Rivers continue to have high water levels, with flooding occurring within low-lying areas along rivers and lakes.

The Sturgeon River and French River will continue to experience high water levels and flows as the high inflows move downstream through the river systems which may result in property damage.

The Ministry of Natural Resources continues to advise area residents to take necessary action to protect property in flood-prone areas within the French River and Sturgeon River watershed. The public should exercise caution around fast flowing rivers.

While no significant weather is in the forecast, very warm daytime temperatures and some rain are expected into the weekend, which could affect snowmelt.

This warning will be updated as required.

A separate flood watch has been issued for Lake Nipissing. A Watershed Condition Statement has been issued for the South River watershed.
