St. Joseph-Scollard Hall and Ecole Secondaire Odyssee teamed up tonight to canvass the City of North Bay in the annual Spring Food Drive.

Odyssee, canvassing the Birchaven and Graniteville neighbourhoods, were able to collect 1800 pounds of food for the North Bay Food Bank.

At St. Joseph-Scollard Hall, 25 teams of staff, students, alumni, and friends of the school went out into North Bay tonight. They returned with 6919 pounds of food! The Bears beat their total weight from last spring's food drive by about 1700 pounds!

In total, the North Bay Food Bank will have just over 8700 pounds more food tomorrow than it had today. The food will be dropped off to the food bank tomorrow afternoon, thanks to staff volunteers from U-Need-A-Cab.

In the third year of St. Joseph-Scollard Hall's expanded food drive, where the communities of Callander and Powassan are also canvassed with all food collected benefitting food banks in those communities, the Bears were able to collect a total of 7900 pounds this year. In those 3 years, SJSH has collected just under 23 000 pounds of food for the three food banks!

Many thanks to everyone who helped make this event a huge success; from the teams of canvassers to the citizens who donated!
