The Kiwanis Club of North Bay is looking for nominations for the Kiwanis Club of North Bay Downtown Walkway of Fame.

This will be the second year of recognition of local Stars on our Walkway of Fame.

The idea of the walkway is to honour individuals, groups, teams and organizations that brought local, provincial, national and/or international recognition to the City of North Bay. All individuals, groups, teams and organizations are eligible to be nominated for the Walkway of Fame.

The selection committee will be made up of 6 local representatives.

Nominations can be submitted by any individual and/or group.

The Kiwanis Club of North Bay's Downtown Walkway of Fame was founded by Mayor Al McDonald. This project was first discussed over 10 years ago.

The Kiwanis Club adopted this project officially in 2008, and work began. Al McDonald met with City and DIA representatives over the course of a year and half. Clark Communications designed the star free of charge.

In the first year, a total of 8 “stars” were installed, and going forward a total of 4 each year after.

The “stars” are installed at the corner of Main and Ferguson streets in North Bay on the East and West side of Main Street.

Nominations for 2013 close on Friday, May 24, 2013

Nomination forms can also be found at the DIA office, North Bay Chamber of Commerce and the North Bay Library or online at www.northbaykiwanis.org
