Algonquin Ave man facing weapon charges

At 12:50am on 14th Apr North Bay Police responded to a fight call at a residence on the 700 block of Algonquin Ave. Investigation revealed that a man had been in an argument with another man then left and returned with two hammers, threatened to kill the people in the residence, and smashed holes in the door with the hammers.

He left again and returned with an axe. A struggle occurred, the axe was taken away but one person was cut in the process.


Mitchell Stewart 27yrs of Algonquin Ave was arrested and charged with 2 counts of assault with a weapon, mischief and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
