... A late-season winter storm ending tonight.

A slow-moving and now weakening low pressure system currently centred over northern lower Michigan will track across Northern Lake Huron to near North Bay by Saturday morning.

A fairly sharp back edge to the shield of snow will move across the regions this evening, bringing the heaviest snow to an end. Most locales will receive a further 2 to 5 cm of snow this evening, bringing total snowfall accumulations to near 15 cm.

Some residual wet flurries and perhaps brief freezing drizzle or drizzle will linger into Saturday as the weak low moves across.

In addition, strong easterly winds gusting to 60 km/h will cause local very low visibilities in blowing snow early this evening. The strong winds will then diminish as the low weakens.

Motorists should be prepared for hazardous winter driving conditions from very low visibility in areas of heavier snow and blowing snow, as well as quickly accumulating snow on untreated roads.
