Residents encouraged to help fill the cart for the North Bay Food Bank

As we head into spring and donations to local food banks begin to decline, Metro Ontario Inc. and Campbell Company of Canada are encouraging residents of North Bay to help gather much-needed food as part of the Help Hunger Disappear™ program. On Saturday, April 6th, 2013, people are invited to visit the Lakeshore Drive Metro to fill donation bins with non-perishable foods in support of the North Bay Food Bank. For every bag of food donated at the event between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Campbell will match with a donation of 10 cans of soup (up to 2,000 cans).

Now in its sixth year, Help Hunger Disappear™ is Campbell Canada’s national hunger program, created to help raise awareness and drive donations for food banks across Canada. Our local food banks are visited by nearly 900,000 Canadians every month - 38 per cent of these are children and youth. Shoppers can help support food banks in their communities with a purchase of four cans of Campbell’s soup or broth. They will receive $1 off their purchase and Campbell will donate up to $30,000 to local food banks through an in-store Help Hunger Disappear™ coupon.
