Harper issues Easter statement

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the occasion of Easter:



“I would like to extend my best wishes to Christians in Canada and around the world as they gather with family and friends to observe Easter and the culmination of Holy Week.



Easter is a time of renewal, and represents the triumph of good over evil and of hope over despair. It is also a time to show love, compassion, generosity and forgiveness.



Today, let us reflect on the meaning of this special day, and think of how and every one of us can help others and better our communities in the year ahead.
