Collision at Hwy 11 & Seymour St results in impaired charges

On Sunday March 24, 2013 at 12:45pm, members of the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of Highway #11 and Seymour St.

Members of the North Bay Police Service were first on scene and assisted with the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Charles ROBERTSON age 51yrs of Toronto, ON, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

* Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

* Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

* Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was a firearm contrary to section 94 of the Criminal Code of Canada

* Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm contrary to section 95(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

* Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number contrary to section 108(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

* Careless Use of Firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

ROBERTSON was held in custody and will appear in North Bay Court this morning for a bail hearing.
