Two local groups receive Ontario Arts Council funds

Two local groups are receiving a total of $30,000 in funding support through the Ontario Arts Council, Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced today.


The project grants are as follows:


· Aanmitaagzi was awarded $19,000 through the Aboriginal Arts Projects program toward Dances of Resistance. Aanmitaagzi lead artists will conduct a series of community-engaged multidisciplinary workshops.



· Nipissing First Nation Culture Department was awarded $11,000 through the Aboriginal Arts Education Projects program toward a series of traditional regalia making workshops.


“Nipissing can be proud of its tradition of supporting our strong arts and cultural heritage. I offer my sincere congratulations to these two organizations for their ongoing contributions toward it,” said Fedeli.
