Linda and Peter Brown need your help

Monday, February 25, 2013   by: Kate AdamsNorth Bay couple Linda and Peter Brown need your help pushing their audition tape to the top of the list and in turn making them one of the teams to compete on the first Amazing Race Canada.

The American version is a favourite with the couple and they have taken the audition very seriously as they have put together a professional video and are now reaching out to the community to help get them there.

“We are led to believe that the number of views or likes of the video will raise our profile with the producers. We intend to "sell" North Bay as much as possible -- just north enough to be better than Muskoka And NOT Thunder Bay,” Peter tells BayToday.

Peter, Retired Environmental Professor at Canadore, tells BayToday that the race is more than just a game for the couple, that in fact it is part of their lifestyle.

“We've always loved the show. We organized our own Amazing Race for Linda's 50th birthday … 42 racers and most of downtown was involved, then we came third in the Habitat for Humanity amazing race. But our team won for most dollars raised. We were also the oldest!”

“We live the Amazing Race. Every minute counts with us. We have an adventurous life and love to change things up.”

The Browns say being part of the show will help them not only market North Bay but also discover the country and mark their 37th anniversary in style.

“We hope to win and show that retired folks can be just as conniving as the kids lol. We want to see the country in a way that would be just awesome. And win of course!”

“If (when) we get on the amazing race, we can show how incredible northerners are. We can be ambassadors for all of what North Bay offers...we wouldn't have stayed since 1981 if we didn't feel the community spirit.”
