City of North Bay Mayor Al McDonald was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities for his leadership and dedication to the North Bay community, as well as his distinguished service to Canada.

This Medal was created to mark the 60th Anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne. Mayor McDonald was also the recipient of the 50th Anniversary Queen’s Diamond Jubiliee Medal in 2003 – a very significant achievement to have received two Medals in one’s lifetime.

Mayor McDonald was presented with the Diamond Jubilee Medal at Tuesday evening’s City Council meeting by Chief Administrative Officer Jerry Knox. “The City of North Bay is proud of his achievement, and the North Bay community is invited to join us in congratulating him on being the recipient of this most prestigious award.”
