Late last week, Chair Jack Burrows and members of the North Bay and Area Community Foundation Board announced six groups which will receive funding this year. The Alzheimer's Society, P.L.A.Y.S, Powassan Girl Guides, Victoria's Quilts, Patrick4Life's Youthfest, and The Literacy Council will all be receiving $1000 grants.

It is the Foundation's goal to be a philanthropic leader, catalyst, and resource in enabling North Bay and Area to grow and flourish into a model community. Building on the North Bay Area’s longstanding tradition of generosity, they aim to strengthen our community for the benefit of all its members and not just for now, but for future generations to come.

All of these grants will be distributed at the Foundation's Annual Dinner and Auction. The NBACF dinner will be held on April 19th, 2013 at The Clarion Resort Pinewood Park.

The evening will feature a five course meal followed by an auction that promises to have fun and unique items, such as "Dinner on the Dock," hosted by Mayor Al McDonald. Tickets are still available at $100 per person including a charitable tax receipt for $50.

For more information please contact Kate Merritt at (705) 495-3737 or visit the NBACF website at www.nbacf.ca.
